Paleokastritsa first became a tourist destination in the early 19th century, and it remains one of Corfu’s main attractions, the ‘must-see’ resort of the island’s North West. But north of its chiselled bays and headlands and over a mountain range, the FAR North West beckons, a wider region relatively unvisited by mass tourism. The roads are quiet and the villages traditional, and the views, untroubled by large developments, include some of the best on the island. This tour take you directly into the heart of the North West by the ‘back door’, only discovered accidentally by most visitors. It takes you to Agios Georgios Beach, one of the best on the island, and into an impossibly picturesque village. In between, you may visit workshops selling genuine local products, and sample honest, wholesome cuisine.
With this app-based self-guided audio tour through Corfu’s remote North West region, you will enjoy unlimited independent sightseeing of the unspoiled countryside and villages, as well as excellent undeveloped beaches.
