In 2000, we established the Corfu Trail to showcase the diverse countryside of this Greek island. Thousands of hikers have enjoyed the experience. Corfu has mostly gentle terrain with lush meadows, woodlands, forests, and olive groves. The more challenging mountain zone is encountered at the end of the Trail, where hikers will descend through a forested ravine to reach the sea at Corfu’s northernmost point, which marks the end of the Trail.
A temperate climate invites year-round walking on the Trail, offering the opportunity to embrace nature's beauty and serenity. In the spring and autumn months, the pleasant temperature and low humidity create the perfect conditions for daily hikes of up to seven hours.
In the digital era, it's now even easier for people to walk all or part of the trail routes. Despite Google and many others having mapped the trail, it lost its official status. It's like having Hilary with you while you walk, offering information and guidance.
The guide is available in English, Dutch and German.
Once downloaded, you can view the entire route from anywhere worldwide with your turned on. The routes are marked in different colours for each daily section. Information pins for each section are the same colour and contain essential details such as distances, time, elevation, and facility information.
Upon arriving on the island, activate your GPS and select the "follow me" icon on the map to monitor your progress while hiking through Corfu. It is important to note that the route is specifically intended to be walked from South to North, as originally designed. Deviating from this may result in the green information guiding pins being inaccurate. Nevertheless, you can still use your GPS to follow the route or choose to walk any section as you wish.
Green pins at specific locations provide detailed guidance, while others help you locate key places along your route or provide additional information.
