I have been walking the length and breadth of Corfu for years, hiking in its mountains, and rambling over its olive-blanketed hills and through its open plains. The more I explore, the more I am convinced that the island is a walker's paradise, with a huge variety of scenery, lovely footpaths and trails, many places of interest to aim for, and - despite heavy development in a surprisingly few places - an unspoilt and venerable atmosphere.
As founder of the Corfu Trail, the island’s long-distance hiking route and author of several walking books, I have put together a portfolio of walks on behalf of Corfu Narratour, which offers a new, innovative and reliable series of guides to the best the island can offer. These app-based guides work on GPS and are not reliant on a possibly erratic Internet connection. Your pilot on the hikes consists of a map that tracks your progress and shows the route ahead, together with audio and written directions, and photographs of some of the landmarks you’ll encounter.
You can enjoy strolls and short walks of up to an hour and a half with no great challenges; longer country walks that ramble through the hills and dales; and mountain hikes that may involve rough terrain and steep ascents. Something for everyone!
We shall add to the existing portfolio, so keep an eye on the page!
Once downloaded, our app works offline and does not require Internet access. It will guide you using a coloured route on a map. The ‘follow-me’ option will show your location and keep you driving or walking in the right direction once you have opened the walk or drive.
It is important that you press the red information pin for more instructions to enhance your experience.
These app-based walks are designed to help you explore the parts of Corfu you might otherwise not see, taking you off the beaten track. They guarantee a stress-free experience, enabling you to enjoy the island, while ensuring you will not get lost by relying on inaccurate Google information or incomprehensible printed maps.
The Corfu Trail offers a scenic hiking experience with gentle terrain, lush meadows, and challenging mountain zones. The temperate climate allows year-round walking, with perfect conditions for daily hikes in spring and autumn. No need to walk the whole route, you can walk sections of the Trail and also enjoy the individual walks presented by Hilary Paipeti

Many Corfu Trail hikers express themselves as somewhat surprised by the arduous nature of some of the route. Corfu has some serious mountains. These eight walks have been selected to appeal to genuine hikers who may not have the time to walk the complete Trail but would enjoy a tough and rewarding day walk. Some, like the Kassiopi Hinterland, are just plain long, and others, for example, Mount Saint George, are shorter but abruptly mountainous. All offer glorious views for hikers' enjoyment.

Making a circuit of the eastern highlands of the Pantokrator Massif, this long and taxing hike offers a cycloramic perspective of a large section of the island, to the northeast and southwards, and finally to the north. Views don’t come better than this! Some sections of the walk might require long trousers due to the scratchy undergrowth.
