CORFU TOWN: Corfu Town Museums

Corfu Town prides itself on its profusion of museums, most of them unique in their category. How many visitors to an average-sized Greek island would expect to find a museum featuring art originating in countries across Asia, housed to boot in a Georgian palace? Or one that presents the history of paper money and how it is made? How about an art gallery with a huge collection of paintings by local artists from the 19th century to the present day (and not just one such gallery)? Most of the establishments are housed in fitting premises, for example the soap museum in a working soap factory and the Museum of Byzantine (religious) Art in a deconsecrated church. This guide to Corfu’s museums is not a tour, though it does offer a suggested route between the locations which you can join at any point. Instead, it contains useful information about each facility and what you will find there. You are free to create your own tour, whether you choose to visit all the museums, or just a small selection; over the course of one day or spread over several.

With this app-based self-guided audio tour around the island of Vidos, you will enjoy unlimited independent sightseeing of the area, its fortresses, beaches and hidden treasures.

There's no need to meet up with a member of staff, simply download our app and start your experience straight away once at the dedicated starting point.
